Frankie Tedstone – Teacher of English and TLR3 for Literacy in Writing

What does your job entail?

At Venture, I am 'Teacher of English' but am also currently fulfilling the role of 'Leader of Literacy in Writing' (as a TLR), as well as Staff Governor.

How long have you worked at Venture?

I joined Venture in 2009 in the role of a 1:1 Teaching Assistant. I have since gained varied experiences since then to the present: Raising Achievement Mentor, Instructor and Qualified Teacher with TLRs.

What do you enjoy about working at Venture?

I love the students that we have walk through our doors every day. Coming from the local area myself, I empathise with the challenges they face and made the decision early on in my career to dedicate my life's work to supporting those children in the way my previous teachers cultivated a positive growth mindset in me. Our students are unique; they're kind, supportive, trusting and - most importantly - they strive for the best even in the face of adversity.

Additionally, I value the opportunities I have had over the years to develop as a professional. Venture supported me in qualifying as a teacher and offered me an eclectic range of CPD opportunities, which it continues to do for all staff.

Louis - Head Boy "Ormiston Venture Academy is a place where it inspires all students. The teachers are really supportive and are always there to help you, in lessons or after school. There are lots of enrichment activities that cover all subjects and departments, and CASH lessons where we get to discus and cultural topics. I feel that Venture academy has helped me to fulfill all my ambitions and has advised me on my future endevours.

Holly -  "Venture is a fun school with lots of extra curricular clubs. It has lots of opportunities to succeed, in music, sport, or performing arts. The lessons are awesome and really inspire us to continue to develop after we leave the academy
